Teacher Training

At DanceWerk we are committed to the ongoing professional development and support of our dance teachers and others who are interested in becoming dance teachers themselves.

We run intensive dance teacher training courses that are fully accredited with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA).

IDTA

Who are the IDTA?

IDTA

“The International Dance Teachers’ Association is one of the world’s largest examination boards, covering the full spectrum of dance examinations on a global scale, with over 7,000 members in 55 countries.”

You will be trained by a team of three dance professionals, including two of the UK’s leading IDTA lecturers and a mentor who runs a successful local dance company and school. Our IDTA lecturers have successfully trained over 300 dancers nationwide to become qualified dance teachers. Will you be next? Whilst our courses are held in Reading, many dancers travel from various parts of the country to get their dance teaching qualifications, which are recognised all over the world!

"I took the IDTA Freestyle Dance Teacher Training Course in November, 2011. I found it really informative and enjoyable. The tutors were lovely and offered a lot of support. We had 4 weeks to complete our portfolios and prepare for the exam. During the exam itself, you’re made to feel relaxed and welcome - my examiner was very encouraging and not intimidating at all. My overall experience was very good, it is a lot of hard work but very rewarding. I was thrilled to pass my exam with honours and I definitely recommend this course to anyone serious about teaching dance.”
